Business Basics is an exciting series of business education programs which introduces students to the fundamental concepts of business in a community context. Each program is unique and can be delivered independently or as a structured series to match the learning needs and abilities of elementary school students grades 5-8. Through lively discussion and classroom activities, volunteer business consultants deliver practical information about the organization and operation of a business.

Our Business World (grades 5-7) puts students in charge of making big decisions in different areas of a small company. In four one-hour sessions, they put their talent to the test in the organization, management, production and marketing of their own business. By experimenting with real world business challenges, students discover the value of teamwork as they:

A Business of Our Own (grades 6-8) takes the traditional summertime lemonade stand to the next level. Delivered over a five week period, students organize and operate their own retail stand and assess their business performance. By taking on leadership roles within a management team, they discover the importance of individual performance and the value of teamwork as they:
